Zuzka has a Fit & Fab for New Years Party schedule, BR's Fry Fat 5 Day Challenge, Diet Challenges Are Coming

Zuzka posted a: FIT & FABULOUS FOR THE NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY
It is 2 workouts a day. She mentions that you should do one in the morning and one at night (or afternoon) - and NOT two of them together because you cannot go to your max effort unless you keep them short. What do you guys think? I personally don't like to have to get all sweaty twice a day, and have things to do with my kids most afternoons so it is not optimal for me. I suppose for a week I could figure it out though! :)  I just prefer to get it all in at once.
I like adding onto to Zuzka's workouts a lot - like back exercises or other pull work and it seems fine to me. I'm an hour workout girl anyways - I like to warm up and I like to stretch at the end too, but I understand her point of saving energy to go all out later in the day.

Zuzka includes a diet plan which I thought was pretty cool. It does seem to me that she does not eat a lot. I think that she just doesn't have a big appetite. There is a difference between being actually hungry and having a big appetite. Some people are both where others simply get hungry when necessary. I definitely think Z has that on her side.

Since I am part of the BR Plus I just got the Fry Fat Challenge. Lisa looks SO different - her hair, her face, her boobs! She has put on some muscle since this challenge as well. Is it just me or does it always look like Lisa puts on baby oil before working out? In this challenge she is all lubed up. But the workouts are pretty good. Always push-up and upper body dominant, but she has some other good exercises in there too.
I think some of the exercises were mislabeled. For instance, one was crab lunge which I think was supposed to be crab reach. I noticed a couple of others too, but no big deal. They seem to do it kind of often, but no one seems to mind. I don't see a lot of negative comments on it. Actually the negative comments I saw about Lisa's signed photos were removed. The whole ad was removed as far as I can tell.

I am wondering if Zuzka or bodyrock,tv will do diet challenges in the New Year. I am working on my Precision One Certification (I just finished the required reading AND the workbook, now onto the videos!) and they recommend that people make one change at a time - every 1-2 weeks as not to get overwhelmed.
So my first challenge for the next 10 days is no sugar! I have a BIG sweet tooth. Sigh. I love my dark chocolate - 85% and 2 squares a day I will allow as it is low in sugar, known for its anti-oxidants, and will keep me sane. Precision also states that it is impossible to be compliant 100% of the time without going crazy or relapsing back to old habits. Making a goal of being compliant 90% of the time is better. As an example, if you eat 6 meals a day (which I usually eat 6-8 times a day), that's 60 meals in 10 days. 90% compliant means that 54 out of those 60 meals - NO sugar. You've got 6 meals over the course of the 10 days to be human. LOL. Which works out for New Years Eve. My other daughter's b-day is coming up and I will certainly have a piece of cake. I just want to reduce my sugar intake as I think it is too much.
In another 10 days I will post another challenge. :) Anyone in with me?!

I know I usually post a FitNut of the week, but not sure if I can. I just got home from my vacation, I was throwing up earlier today (so fun to fly home sick with 2 kids - said NO ONE - EVER), and I have to unpack, go grocery shopping, laundry, etc, etc, etc. I'm not feeling up for working out (which is rare for me) and I promised my kids I would put together their new dollhouse and tent that Santa brought.
For now, it's extra sleep tonight. I've got the kids home from school for another week, so I need to rest to be able to keep up with them. They like to join in my workouts sometimes too. I put them on my lap and do hip thrusters. I have 1-3 lb weights for them and they like to swing from my pull-up rings/jungle gym.

The end of the year is just around the corner. Did you guys have any favorite workouts of the year that come to mind?

  1. I'm in no sugar. Its gonna be hard for me but I went overboard on the sweets lately so it'll be good for me. I hope you feel better soon

    1. Tx! Under the weather again today, but better than yesterday. I have to teach class tomorrow, so no choice but to suck it up. :)

  2. I am in on no sugar for ten days as well - though NYE probably will be 3 "cheats" in one xDD

  3. Looking at past pics of Zuzka (from BR days), she looked just as ripped as now and yet she was eating much higher carbs. I know this because I always wondered how she could eat such low protein and such high carbs and look so ripped and muscular. This makes me think, "Why be so restrictive if you can get the same body and have an easier diet?" And a more enjoyable diet, in my opinion.

I find her recipes for the most part useless for me even though we have the same body type. I have issues with eating too much! Even if I *should* be full due to the calories in the meal, my mind seems to take over and I overeat. I think that would apply to the majority of people. It seems most people are overweight due to overeating (portion control) and not because they eat their allotted calories per day i.e.: 1500, but eat too many carbs out of those 1500. I believe the macros within those 1500 can determine whether a person looks better or worse (i.e.: more muscular, more skinny fat), but people are not overweight due to this. People become overweight because they don't eat *just* the calories they need....we love to eat just to eat! HAHAHA

    1. Good point Lexxie - why not use the easier diet if you look the same? Zuzka must think she either looks different or maybe she feels better on this diet. IDK.
But then again I just don't think Zuzka has much of an appetite. My mom is like that. She LOVES food, don't get me wrong, but she can go all day and then think - gee I haven't eaten in hours, I should eat something.

  4. Oh and re: the pic of Lisa you posted, to me it looks like she gained some fat. I am not saying she is fat at all (still very lean) but not as lean as normal.
This isn't a bad thing. It's not healthy to be super, super lean year round anyways. And it's just human....sometimes we have more body fat than other times. Especially in winter, for me I find. The dark weather (we get very, very little sun where I live) and the holidays (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years) lead to more eating for me.

    1. Lisa was super skinny during that challenge. So whether it is fat or muscle or both, I think her body looks better now. She looked almost scrawny before.

    2. I'm so glad she's gained, whether it's muscle, fat, or both - she looks amazing and I bet she feels amazing, too. It seems like she's kept her ~new figure~ throughout the challenges (I realize they film 5 in a day so who knows really). I noticed her figure during the 21 Day Bootcamp and felt more inspired by it than I have since she was every on Bodyrock. She just seems healthier overall in body and mind. Just my opinion, though.

  5. Hope ur ok I'm the same I blame the junk I ate lol, I am really swaying towards rumi and z, rumi length of workouts suit me right now and looking forward to her adding heavy waits woohoo!!! Over Xmas I noticed big time the diff with my figure and I know it's because I've upped the weights for instance my tummy I really think that when I do to much cardio my body releases cortisol?? Not sure but I'm sticking to this for now and going to cut out sugar as of 1st jan right thru to my big 30th haha at the end of January I'm actually going to see jillian michaels soon perfect timing to start the year of right ;-) get well soon Gina and I loved ur accent! and enjoyed the interview with garage warrior;-) xx

    1. Thanks - can't wait to feel like myself again! Glad you enjoyed the interview - he was SO great. My accent is awful - LOL. Research has shown that people can make too much cortisol when doing too much cardio. If you notice a difference and like it, then keep it up. I'm looking forward to Rumi adding in her heavy weights too. :)

  6. I plan on having champagne on New Year's Eve but for the most part I'm going to stick to 90% compliance for those 10 days and more. I went waaaaaayyyy, way overboard during Christmas weekend and know exactly why I feel so horrible: too much of everything, including wine and sweets :( Today was a good day diet-wise and water-intake-wise, though, so hopefully tomorrow I'll be on the way to feeling better.

Hope you're feeling a bit better otherwise!

    1. I am finally feeling better today. A 3 day migraine! Ugh. My diet went way off track too but because I was sick I hardly ate these last couple of days. New Years eve we usually do something with the kids and I'm asleep before midnight! But New Years day my hubby and I go out. I'm sure both days will involve a cheat but I'm staying much more on track than christmas!! And in another note, I agree that Lisa looks much better now.
