Did you see what Zuzka ate yesterday? And my latest post for BR

Coffee with butter and coconut milk
Oatmeal with protein and blueberries
Baked chicken leg and green salad
Raspberry Smoothie
Chicken Salad

OK, I don't know about you, but I would STARVE! LOL. I would say it is about 1500 calories IF the dressing she used on the salads had some fat in it, otherwise less.

What did you guys think?

And check out this that I posted for BR.TV. I had fun with this one! Ha ha.

  1. I am not surprised she eats that little, but I would eat my own leg after three days on such a diet :)

  2. Does she give quantity? How you calculate these calories? I eat around 2000 calories per day and I feel weel fed :) Taller women need more calories, more bones and muscle to maintain. I am not so high, 163 sm.

    1. I believe Zuzka is 5'4" tall. I am 5'7" tall, so that would explain why I would need more calories. But I've always been a big eater. :)
I just estimated the calories based on her pics, but I suppose she could have eaten a lot more than pictured. Seemed like a lot of lettuce and liquid to me. LOL.

  3. I guess there's enough calories and fat in the coffee and thankfully there's protein in the oatmeal.... wonder what is in the raspberry smoothie besides raspberries, lol. At least there's a lot of protein there. I dunno; am trying to figure out my own diet myself so I don't feel so drained, what with all the training and such (for weight loss; I've since reduced to 45-60 minutes, 5-6 days a week, but am doing more intense workouts). It's trial and error so far but I guess she's found what works for her.

    1. VERY good point Liz. She HAS found what works for her. BUT - most of out there would not be satisfied or satiated with that little food - IMO.

    2. I totally agree. As a fitness guru and someone venturing into the world of nutrition, a one-size-fits-all approach won't work for her followers (if that's what she's doing). I haven't followed her nutrition in a while only because what works for one doesn't work for another. So far I've found that when I do more cardio, my brain/body functions with slightly more starchy carbs (oatmeal or banana) and in general I've upped the lean protein and fat (the latter only a little) to feel satiated. Vegetables and fruit have never been a problem. It's all about balance and one's goals, and feeling able throughout the day.

I've seen Melissa Ioja's meals (with her prepping for her competition; she competes on Monday!) and even with how she's cut back, her diet is something I would follow more than Zuzka's. I guess I just can't stomach the idea of so butter in one's coffee, lol.

  4. I'm not surprised she eats so little, as well... But holy crap. How does one even get through the day on so little food? After doing a yoga session or weightlifting, I am STARVING. I don't think I could even muster up the energy to workout if I ate so little.

  5. I am her size/height and similar body type. I found that 1500-1800 works best for me to stay lean and muscular. I don't do super low carb like her though. It is hard to tell portion size by pics, but given she eats much higher fat than me, I would say the portion sizes would likely look on the small side. Higher fat should keep a person full longer.....but I can have issues with portion size so her diet would be hard for me to keep reasonable calories.

    1. Portion sizes are HARD - I totally agree.
