What did you guys think of Chris Tye-Walker's Bootcamp for BRTV? And Zuzka's Latest KB Workout For Beginners?

Did you like the Fit Test with Chris? It was different - right? But pretty cool? I liked it! And I LOVE the new cover page for BR's FB home page. It is nice to see some male abs up there for a change:

I liked the ladder style workout that he did, the change of pace and the change of workout type. Not that I don't miss Lisa and her quirkiness, but I DID like him.
Looks like Lisa will be off the radar for the next several weeks. Every time she does this there is rumors about her and Freddy breaking up. I think they do just fine the way they are. :) She also does a plastic surgery overhaul when she goes on hiatus too. Lets hope not this time!

Zuzka posted her latest Kettlebell workout for beginners. I like it of course - especially the lunge into press work.
It is 2 rounds of the following:
1. KB Swing x 5 to Burpee (x1) x 5 sets
2. Clean Backward lunge to one arm press x 5/5 (release after each rep)
3. KB swing (x5) / Figure 8 squat (x5) x 4 sets (nonstop)
4. Goblet Roll back squats x 10
Definitely not a fan of her latest baggy pants phase though. They look like pajamas!

I have a couple of new posts for BR, so check them out.

This first one is about which flours are the healthiest - there is a chart in there letting you know the calories, protein, fat and carbs of a dozen or more kinds of flours.

This next one has 2 V-day recipes in it. YUM!

  2. I did Chris workout yesterday and I love it! As you said, it's pretty cool to change things up with a new host and a new male host! The workout was pretty upper body focused and I really enjoyed it. Can't wait for the other weeks! I'll incorportate his bootcamp in my workout schedule for the next 9 weeks :)

  3. I was wondering if I could replace the medicine ball in Chris's workout with something around the house... any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, wasn't the second yoga supposed to be posted today?

    1. Do you have a kids ball or basketball at home? You can make a small hole in it and fill it with sand or kitty litter. You then have to tape it up with duct tape or ball tape. I didn't know the second one was supposed to be posted today. Anyone else?

    2. In the summer when I'm out of town without my ugi ball or medicine ball, I use a rock from the beach or the garden! You may have something in your garden :)

    3. That's a great idea too, especially since we are going away for the weekend. I also considered using my laptop bag, with everything that comes with.

  4. I think I saw a coment of theirs on one of the two yoga flow 1 posts on facebook, saying that the second one would be posted on wednesday... i'm gonna check again. Thought about the sand idea too. It suddenly sounds better now that someone else has also recommended it.

  6. I like ladder workouts too. Is it just me but I cant understand why a trainer does such strange push ups, they seem to me a half done job. And from a man I expect perfect form push up.
