Watch out Zuzka and BR, you've got some competition: I Got Introduced to a New Fitness Site That ROCKS!

I was introduced to a new fitness site and I love it! www.fitnessrum.com . Her name is Rumi, she's a young girl from Bulgaria, and she in in GREAT shape. I have not watched so many workout videos in a row in a long time. :) She has her own YouTube Channel as well: Rumiana Ilieva

Yep, check out those abs. Gorgeous body! She has this crazy hair thing going on which I find to be part of her appeal. She seems so shy and has this little quiet voice, but don't let that fool you. Her workouts are tough. They are HIIT based, but there are a few things about them that I like better than most typical HIIT routines:

1. A lot of them are longer so you do not need to repeat the rounds or add on. She does offer some short ones as well though if that's what you like to stick to.
2. They include strength moves - not just jumping.
3. She uses minimal equipment.
4. She includes pulling exercises, back work and booty work.
5. It is 100% FREE.

Rumi is in the middle of doing a 90 day challenge right now (on day 50) and you can go back and see all the workouts from the previous days. The site is a bit hard to navigate, but I know it is something she is working on, and it is not so bad that you wouldn't use her site.

I also like that Rumi posts new workouts on a regular basis. This is very important as we all like and want new ones regularly. She does list the workout breakdown of the exercises and make sure you click the read more button on the bottom of each post to ensure it comes up. She sometimes offers either easier or harder versions of the workouts themselves.

She has done some new and cool moves that I have not seen before - and they don't look like silly moves either - they look hard and effective. Check 'em out.

Variation of the crab ab exercise:

BACK work!

Frog Claps:

She uses an added window on some of her workouts to show what move is coming next that's pretty neat:

Rumi is great at pistols and does a version of them - that if you are close, but not quite there, you can do them effectively. I often do them this way myself, and it's terrific. Her hands and her heel are on the ground. She explains this VERY well in her video. She also gives an alternative to the pistols if you do not want to do them. LOVE. Take a peek:
This is a 50 min workout that looks HARD. Which of course gets me all excited to try it.
She made this comment after the workout: 2 days after I did this workout I’m walking with muscle soreness in my butt, it’s not easy to build muscles in this zone … The Fight continues :D
I loved that comment.

Check out an awesome lunge/burpee move she does in this video:

Seriously? I can't wait to try it.

Here's another comment that Rumi wrote which I completely agree with and glad to see it acknowledged: I think that the back of the thigh, back, and butt are the most neglected muscle groups. Poor buttocks, we sit on it all day long, and it needs hard work.

A lot of HIIT workouts incorporate LEG work, but not specific GLUTE work, and there is a difference. I think Rumi incorporates both.

She doesn't neglect back work which you all know I think is ignored far too much in many HIIT type workouts. She has lots of tid bits of info posted in the comments after her workouts that are quite informative and helpful.

Rumi uses dumbbells in her videos and doubles up on them sometimes to make it a heavier weight. I hope to see her use heavier dumbbells in the future especially for things like deadlifts. I would love for her to incorporate Kettlebells and a jump rope (but that's my bias!)

Her English is off here and there, but it doesn't bother me. Hell, if I had to do a Bulgarian site, mine would be way off. LOL.

She also has some recipe and cooking info which I LOVE. She has some seriously fantastic recipes. http://fitnessrum.com/category/cooking/

She includes the recipe, lots of wonderful pics and sometimes the macro breakdown. This is something I hope she continues to add to her recipes as I personally like to know the calories, protein, fat and carb ratio. Other than eggs and some dairy, her recipes are plant based.

Overall I am super happy to have been introduced to this site. I look forward to watching more of her videos, trying some of the moves, and seeing more from her in the future. Thanks Rumi! You ROCK.

I always thought she is very cute and I liked her creative and hard workouts, although I have never tried one. So I´m glad you reminded of her, she has some new stuff now, it looks exciting! Maybe I will finally try one of her workouts! =D

  8. I have known Rumi's site for awhile, it was called "XRcises.tv" back then. I also have been following her on FB, haven't seen any updates in a long time, though.
Funny enough, I'm a long time follower and I like the look of the workouts, but haven't actually tried any of them yet. I think I should!
