Exercise Challenge #2, Lisa is back

So how did you guys do with the Squat Tabata Challenge? Make sure you keep track of your efforts so when we repeat the challenges you can aim to improve!

Exercise Challenge #2 is a plank challenge. Remember to add this onto your regular workout routine.

Get into a forearm plank and hold for 30 seconds, go to right side forearm plank for 30 seconds, back to center for 30 seconds, left side for 30 seconds, back to center for 30 seconds - without ever letting your knees touch the ground, then lay down on your belly and lift up into superman pose and hold for the last 30 seconds. Takes 3 minutes!

If you are new to plank you may need to have your knees rest on the floor, or even one knee if you are a little more used to plank.
If you are a plank expert, move your elbows ahead of your shoulders a couple of inches, feet together, pelvis tucked under and squeeze your glutes. This will make the plank a lot harder.

On another note, Lisa is back in Canada. I believe she is back to start filming for the next RTC starting in Sept. I think the 5 day challenge starting on Sept 1 is a separate one just with Edith.
I know many people are looking forward to having Lisa back. I hope Freddy is happy to have her back too. I also know some people think that Lisa and Freddy have broken up and that they are both faking it for the viewers sake. Time will tell!

  1. I've been looking at some of Lisa's old 30 day challenge workouts. Have you done that? They look pretty intense and long! Do you think she records the whole workouts in one take? Just wondering if she sometimes messes up her lines or gets something wrong and has to redo part of the video, or even if she maybe takes extra breaks - must be tough doing all that talking as well as the exercise!!

    1. I've done Lisa's 30 challenge and they are one takes. They are amazing! She does mess up a few times, but not much at ALL! She had mentioned she was going to do a challenge in Spain, but I guess she is not. Wish she would do more weighted workouts. I think day 17 of the 30 day challenge is weighted and it's a killer!

    2. I really enjoy the 30 Day Real Time Challenge; it's one of the best things that has come out of Bodyrock.tv. The thing with it is that there aren't "lines" per se; she just does the routine and talks it through, toughs it through .... that's what makes it great. She did record the workouts in one take, yes.

  2. Thanks Pharaoh. Amazing that she does all that without messing up (much) through the whole video! I guess she must have a lot of practice!!

    I don't feel ready for the 30 day challenge yet, but I might try one of the shorter challenges. Have you tried any of those? Do they all have the real time videos? Can you (or anyone else) recommend which is the best?

  3. I like to workout longer than 15 minutes without starting over so I haven't done a lot of the shorter ones, but I have done somes. They are great workouts and there are many to choose from. Go to youtube and type in bodyrock.

    I think I'm going to start back with Fitness Blender. I'm looking for real time weighted workouts and they just seem hard to find. Look up Fitness Blender as well! Lots of workouts and they are categorized!

  4. I'm doing your challenges but I'll be adding them up. I did the squat one yesterday and I was not so great... So I decided to add to today. Still horrible lol And the planks looks easy on paper but it's challenging too! Tomorrow I'll be doing 1 + 2 + 3 and so on. I'll let you know if I make it haha Thanks :)
