BR.TV Intermediate Boot Camp Week 3 Day 3 With Lisa, What is the nutritional breakdown of Zuzka's recipes?

So day three of strength is with Lisa. I really like this routine! Lisa does 'tricep' push-ups off of the step, but they look more like regular push-ups to me - and with good form! Tricep push-ups are done with your hands together I thought....
But I liked the routine of reverse lunges off the step, deadlifts, tricep push-ups and squat and press. Great combo of push-pull, upper-lower body. And loving Lisa's pants!

I also saw these videos of Lisa from the past. Notice how her form is different performing push-ups depending on the variation. We can all see that she can in fact do them correctly, so why not stick with correct form?

I like how Zuzka has been posting several recipes lately. I do wish that she would give us a nutritional breakdown including the calories and grams of protein, carbohydrates, and fat. But I did find a website we can plug in the ingredients of a recipe and find out the nutritional information. Check out www.caloriecounter.com
It does the calculating for you - all you have to do is put in the ingredients. Pretty cool, right?!

  1. I use cronometer for full nutritional breakdown of food - it's WAY better than calorie counter as it gives you the breakdown of all of the amino acids and micro nutrients, calorie counter seems to only show the most common ones.

    1. Really? Yipee. I use cronometer to track my daily food log, but I didn't realize it would also calculate homemade recipes?!?!?!

  2. If you click on the 'food' tab at the top of the page a side bar comes up for adding custom recipes and foods - it also saves that data so you can enter in portions from an old recipe in your daily food diary. Cronometer rules!

  3. My guess is that it's due to residual post-surgical issues (i.e., muscles in the chest wall may have been injured). My hunch is that she is simply working around/adapting to this. My own arm form is bad/different on the right due to an elbow surgery many years ago, but I plug along as best I can. If this is the case, it's one more reason to respect her fortitude--though she may feel sensitive about pointing it out.

    1. Maybe N, but there are videos of Lisa post surgery performing push-ups correctly, including her tricep push-ups from this week. If you cannot do an exercise with correct form, I do not think you should be doing it at all - IMHO.
There are plenty of modifications and substitutions that one can do instead of doing improper form.
I think some exercise is certainly better than no exercise so plugging along is the way to go!
