Zuzka's Workout Schedule, BodyCrush #10, BR Lean Day #2, BR vs. Z's way of doing things, Lisa's Challenge, Ab Challenge from me

Zuzka posted her workout schedule and her Monday's workout way past my bed time last night. This has got to be annoying for people on the East Coast who want to do their workouts first thing in the morning. I also got my first $9.99 charge from the ZGym. I hope it ends up being worth it this month.
Anyways, her schedule is as follows for the week:

The body crush #10 workout for today I LOVED. These are the kinds of workouts that I started following Zuzka for in the first place. I wish she would do more like this. It is a great cardio/strength workout and it is a longer one - over 20 minutes. With the pistols and push-ups in here, it is a bit of strength mixed in with HIIT. If her Rock Star Burpees move had a superman lift in it to work the upper back and glutes it would REALLY rock. :)  I'm going on vacation on the 21st and will be doing this one while I'm away. No equipment and will kick my butt. I think this is a new workout as well, not one that was re-filmed.

Tomorrow's workout is a re-posting of Cardio Shred#3 - 9 minutes of HIIT. Too short in my opinion, but a great cash out to your own workout, or you could always do more rounds. I do love the Kettlebell and jump rope combo. And I know I've said this way too many times before, but does Zuzka really expect us to believe that we will look like her if we do only 9 minutes of HIIT each day? Are we to believe that is really ALL she does? I'm not trying to kick her down, I just don't think it makes sense.
I am very curious to see the Power Yoga and Lifted Butt Series #2 put together. I bet I'll enjoy that one tons. Yoga and a booty workout together? Yes!

BR Lean Day #2 with Kelsey is also posted.
For you Plus members, you should have gotten this week's workouts and the bonuses. I just got them today.
I reallllllllly liked this workout. It was a fantastic grouping of exercises: chest, legs, core, cardio. She uses the Sandbag a lot. Kelsey does 2 rounds, but you can certainly do 3 rounds and add in one or two exercises to make it a longer workout. That super girl move was AWESOME. I suck at it, but that's OK. I love to be pushed out of my comfort zone. Yesterday I mentioned I would add in a booty exercise. Today maybe a pull exercise, and 3-4 rounds would be GREAT. Even doing yesterday's workout for 2 rounds, today's for 2 rounds and add in a booty exercise would be a truly terrific workout.

I know some of you cardio junkies are probably missing the cardio, but adding in some Kettlebell swings or jump rope or both between exercises is pretty easy. Or if you want to follow along with Kelsey, do a buy in of jump rope before the workout and a cash out at the end of Kettlebells swings.

Lisa posted a diet challenge on her FB page. She asks that we all give up the one food that we always go for that we know we shouldn't have - and give it up all week long. That would be chocolate for me. And I'm not sure I could or  if I even WANT to. LOL.

I have noticed that BR has taken a much more glamorous and commercial way of doing things, where Zuzka has gone back to her roots and is more of a 'mom and pop' shop. BR has lots ads, various web-pages and FB pages, sexy models, LOTS of equipment, different guides, blogging, recipes, etc, etc. Zuzka has her workouts filmed at home, her own home recipes, her own blog, her one web-page and one FB page. It is more like her original days with BR, but just some added on things that have kept up with the times a bit. Interesting on how they really have gone in two entirely different directions creatively. It will be interesting to see how they keep evolving.

I did a little yoga ab challenge for you guys - it is a headstand leg lift if anyone wants to give it a go. Great for the shoulders and lower abs. :) http://youtu.be/XIvc4E4MdFg

Have fun!

  1. That AB challenge IS a challenge! I can only do tripod headstands at this point, but I'm working on that one! I did manage to squeeze out a few reps.. Hahaha. I've only recently incorporated yoga into my program (about 4 months), but I'm loving how well it compliments my training. It's very humbling, coming from a weightlifting background. Yoga is a new challenge that tests my strength in other ways. Fun!

Great ab challenge! i have to say that it sure is annoying when Zuzka post the weekly Schedule late, it would be great to see what is coming before going to bed. i had a day off yesterday and it was a nice surprise to see that the new workout was posted earlier than usual :). love the bodyrock lean series and it is always up before i go to bed! :)

  5. I... did not like day 2 of BR Lean if only for that supergirl move, lol. Maybe I didn't like it because I couldn't do it, even though I tried. So that's my fault. :) Just wondering if anyone else had any trouble with it and if so, what they did to accomplish it?

    1. That super girl move was SO hard. You could always do regular super girls, from plank lift opposite arm and leg. Even Kelsey struggled with it.
