ZWOW #1, More older ZWOW's? BR Day 45, Why Losing Weight Is Hard, More from Rumi

I LOVE ZWOW #1 - add in a back exercise to the list and its perfect! I noticed this was not a premium workout? Is this one available to all?
I actually find Zuzka's site a bit hard to navigate and figure out. It might just me and my brain though - LOL.

Zuzka wrote this on her site about the older ZWOW's:
Here’s the new version of ZWOW #1.  I’d like to re-shoot all the ZWOW’s, but it’s going to be a lot of work, and I rather prefer to focus my time and energy on the new and more exciting content. That said, I did the first round to get you started and it’s going to be up to you to finish the additional two rounds on your own. Try to keep the same pace. This is a very challenging bodyweight workout,  and this week we’ve done already 3 intense workouts, so even if you just do that one round with me,  and some stretching… it’s probably going to be enough for today.

What do you guys think about that? I'm indifferent. I think either way it's fine, Maybe over time she can redo some of the ZWOW's here and there - particularly her most popular ones.

Zuzka is still posting in CZech, and she has been posting the workouts more than once - depending on your time zone. That is pretty cool.

There was a comment on Zuzka's FB page that caused a bit of a stir (again): I love your passion, strength and dedication. I have been a longtime fan and I have enjoyed your fitness journey so far. However I am a little surprised to see this photograph, which is very similar to the ones Freddy used to take. This photograph could well be a Bodyrock thumbnail. Now that you have your own website and make your own decisions, I hope you will choose class, instead of steering back in the old direction. We really support you and champion you, so I'm sure you understand that me and lots of other fans mean well.

She was attacked for saying this about Z, but a couple of folks agreed with her. What do you guys think? I didn't think she needed to be attacked for the comment - I see where she is coming from, BUT I just thought it looked like a shot of Z doing a dive bomber. It didn't stir up any sexual connotations for me, but sometimes I wonder if I have gotten so immune to these images.

Zuzka did NOT answer my question on the form of the Kettlebell clean exercise that I posted yesterday. Sigh......

What about Z's BioTerra Giveaway? That's kind of random - isn't it? I'm not sure what to make of it. But my husband could use the snoring one for sure! LOL.
BR should have a sandbag, equalizer or HIIT Bar/ weights giveaway - don't you think?!

BR Day 45 is posted.

MORE PUSH UPS.

The cardio is swings - which is interesting because it was considered a strength move in other workouts.
Lisa does single arm swings with a sandbag - the single arm is to make it harder. She also mentions to use a good weight and says 15 or 20 lbs. For swings it should be more like 25+ lbs - in my opinion. Even a lot of beginners can handle the 25 lb swings.

I'm over the push up, mountain climber, tuck jump various combos. Sorry, but I am. There were no leg movements included other than the swings.

All of the workouts have all been pretty good within themselves, but I do think the repetition of push ups is getting to be just plain nonsensical. There were only two pulling motions - in five days. A bicep curl and a bent over row. Only ONE back exercise in 5 days. There were 15 variations of pressing/push ups in the five days.
I know Zuzka doesn't often include them because she uses less equipment (but superman variations for the back she could use MUCH more often), but BR has the Dip Station and the Equalizer. What gives?
I am not trying to be negative. I am just trying to point out that (I think) these workouts need more balance. And I should absolutely mention that Lisa does a GREAT job.

The push up leg switch is a move Zuzka has done for a while now too. Not saying that BR got it from her, but I am surprised they used a same move she does. It's not like a squat or lunge or a burpee. It is a rather unique exercise. Lisa has a harder time with these because of her long legs, and as someone who has long legs - it's true. It's so damn hard to move those lanky things around sometimes. :)
It's all about Anthropometry (the study of human body measurements especially on a comparative basis). It can make a significant difference in how you are able to do specific exercises.

This is the end of week nine. Next week ends season 2 of the HIIT Maxx. What next? Does anyone know? With the monthly charges that BR now has, they have to offer something else.....

I found an interesting article that many of you might enjoy reading and find it useful. Let me know what you think:

I also thought it was worth mentioning that Rumi (www.fitnessrum.com) has a new workout posted, total body, but focusing on the glutes and shoulders.
A Level 2 and Level 3 is offered.
Longer workouts too if that is what you are looking for. :)

  1. Zuz also posted a giveaway, which looks like fun. However, one is a 'detox' and I find it odd that she would have this as part of a giveaway given she recently did a post on detox and why they are bad.

  2. I haven't done couplet week on BR on account of my foot injury, although I still an working out, but I am rolling in laughter on account of your mention of pushups. I was over them two weeks ago. We'll see how my foot is in the morning or this weekend, but I'll probably try the week in a day and see how it is, comprehensively. IMO the challenge has lost a bit of steam.... But there's only one more week in HiitMax #2, right?

  4. 1. The link to Rumi's site is going to "FitnessRumi.com" which isn't working (at least on my end). I had to remove the "i" and it worked fine.
    2. Love her work out. I read more about body types, turns out I'm mesomorph as well.
    3. Zuzka is having a supplement giveaway. Anyone know of or have tried this supplement?

    1. Yes, it is fintessrum without the i.
I am not familiar with those supplements.

  5. ZWOW#1 is a classic. I will always remember the exercises and the reps. I have done it only once at that time when it was fresh and new. (Oh, and once with intervals.) It would be interesting to do it again. I think I would be much better this time! =D

I don´t think that Zuzka´s picture is too sexual at all. Her boobs or butt is not running to our faces, she is just doing a divebomber. (I assume.)

Lisa and her pushups! =D I really find those workouts really boring. (I´m sorry, I´m sure those workouts are very wonderful to some people, and that´s fine.) I have noticed her pushups are actually quite shallow. When I do pushups, I touch the floor with my chest with every rep. Just if I get really tired and burned out, I might do shallow ones. Maybe Lisa would´t have to do so many pushups if she would do those properly. =D Or are the implants stopping her, I wonder.

  6. :-) Yeah I think Rumi is making changes to her website I think I read that somewhere! its so funny if you see my dad he is definitely mesomorph and my mum endomorph basically when I took the test I am half n half but more mesomorph lol, I also inherited my dads nose so the 50% mesomorph makes up for this hahahahaha :-) I have not tried many supplements I find it all a bit scary there are so so many however I like the sound of the natural 1 Z has mentioned.

    1. BOTH my parents are ectomorphs. From what I understand you can be a combo of 2 body types EXCEPT you cannot be an ecto-endo combo.

  7. I don't think z should re shoot the older zwows(1-70). They're all over YouTube. Maybe the ones that were in the zgym before but not even all. There are some that's just not so great.

  8. It's a divebomber. I don't think there is anything at all wrong with the pic. If it was from behind, then yes- it would be like the old BR pics. But this just shows her doing the exercise and the exercise shows off her body well (she has a nice body, can't hide that!)
