It wasn't bad, but then again I think I just like Jacqui! Of course there was 2 variations of burpees in there. I DID like her triceps push-up row exercise a lot. But a lot of jumping around the living room kind of thing for this routine. I'm not a fan of high knees - especially with upper cuts and especially for 50 seconds. I find this a predominantly a hip flexor exercise and an exercise you can really only go ALL OUT on for 10 -20 seconds,
The curtsy lunge into Arnold press was another exercise I liked, though I bet those weights were light for her. She used those for dumbbell swings as well, and I think it looked super light for her strength level.
The curl into over press looked awkward because her grip was backwards.
If you wanted the Fit Test or the Burn Out - you have to pay for it, as well as the Meal Plan - which is the plan from the Intermediate boot camp. I am looking forward to more from Jacqui though - I love watching her, and I am curious to see what Lisa has to bring for us today.
Did any of you check out the My Protein?

*low impact and easier variation would be weighted backward lunge alternating legs
2. One Leg Jump (x3) / One Leg side lunge jump (x3) / side kick (x3) x 6 sets alt.
*low impact easier variation: One Leg weighted heel lift (x3) / One leg weighted side lunge (x3)/ side kick (x3) x 6sets
3. Jump Tuck (x3) to pistol (x2 alt) x 5
*low impact easier variation: weighted squat (x3) to Pistol – (watch the WW tutorial – x2 alt) x 5
4. On the toes squat heel touches x 10
* An easier variation would be on the toes squat lifting your legs one at the time just an inch off the floor for ten reps.

1 round is 33 reps (I count a whole set as 1 rep so if you don’t complete the set, you can’t count it as a rep for your progress tracker)
Well, this was a weird workout, IMO. The lunge switches I liked a lot because she did them a little differently - all staying in the low position. I bet that had to burn and I want to try it!
The One Leg Jump (x3) / One Leg side lunge jump (x3) / side kick (x3) x 6 sets alt.combo was weird and didn't flow well and he toes squat heel touches seems awfully hard on the knees.
The jump tuck and pistols are pretty typical for her, I AM looking forward to her one arm push-up tutorial tomorrow though! She should put together a routine for all of her Warrior Wed tutorials.
i will probably try Jacqui's workout but I'm not a big fan of BR workouts. i don't find them fun, usually.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you think sucralose is bad? Do you think it is sucralose or the product it is added to, e.g. Splenda?
ReplyDeleteSucralose is controversial when it comes to its safety. It is made from table sugar.
DeleteReally there is no evidence that sucralose is damaging - almost all the research is done on saccherides or as animal or in vitro studies on sucralose. No CCTs or metaanalysis has been released. I can recommend Unnatrual Vegan's videos on Splenda/sucralose, especially this one

It's controversial depending on what you read - but Stevia is safe no matter what you read. At least so far! I feel safer with it. But that's me. :)
Deletewhat about the Bodycrush 31 from last week? you didnt write it down. you just write cardio shred 32(which is also from last week) what are your opinions?
ReplyDeleteI know - crazy life these days. I don't get to do everything each week! My kids have a TON of stuff going on. I can't seem to fit it all in!
DeleteBut her bodycrush workouts I don't like as much as her cardio shred. They are mostly bodyweight jumping exercises.
I really love watching Zuzka work out, but it drives me crazy when she wears those short shorts and pulls them down after each set! Wear different pants if they keep riding up!!!
ReplyDeleteI will not be doing her killer legs series. My quads bulk up very fast, so I try to avoid leg-focused workouts. I try to target the glutes and it's hard to completely avoid the quads when doing so (and yes, I've read Bret's awesome article on the topic! Eye opener :-)
Sooo true about those pants! Seriously you dont HAVE to wear booty shorts to be a trainer - if they dont work, change your outfit! She would look great in a paper bag anyway!
DeleteYou guys are too funny about her shorts. I have noticed that so many times. It drives me crazy too. Actually when I wear shorts that do that when I work out - it makes me even crazier. I don't know how she can stand it!
DeleteI wouldnt touch soy protein at all! Soy is a phytoestrogen and taking it everyday will alter your hormones!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of soy either. Too controversial for me as well. I don't feel safe with it.
