BR.TV Workout #2 is Live with Edith (ONLY via email?), CARDIO Week, Where Is Lisa's Certification From?

So the Intermediate workout #2 is live now with Edith. I'll be honest, I didn't like it much. BUT with that being said, it is cardio week so we can expect a lot of random jumping exercises. I am not much of a cardio girl, so I am biased to not liking these kinds of exercises. Some of you probably love this stuff though.



Edith looks absolutely fantastic as well and she used the vest. I was surprised to see that Lisa did not use it yesterday.

I'll be more interested if they have a strength week, which I bet they do. I bet they have an ab and booty week too. I'd be more interested in that as well than the cardio stuff.
I would like to see things like Kettlebell swings (or sandbag swings), high pulls, med ball slams, reverse lunges, box jumps, and jump squats and the like instead of random jumping. I do like mountain climbers and burpees - but WITH a push up.

I've also noticed that none of the workouts so far are available via FB or on their web-site. Looks like the only way to get the workouts (which are FREE - you pay for bonuses, the meal plan, warm up and cool down workouts and equipment) is by being on their email list.
Now I know with the emails you target a smaller audience, BUT they do get to put in ads for their extra stuff and it can't get ignored or bypassed like ads can via YouTube, FB, etc, etc. This is why I am assuming that they are going this route. With ad blockers, being able to ignore ads,  and WAY more FREE competition on the internet these days, I think more and more companies are relying on email contacts instead.
I'm not sure if this works better than the pay per clicks they are used to getting? I also know that YouTube itself does NOT turn a profit. Google owns YouTube and it only makes money from it as it drives people to other sites. I am not sure if single companies make any money off of YouTube anymore because you can block the ads completely,
This is why people like Zuzka and BR.TV offer subscriptions and use affiliates. The free stuff just doesn't make money the way it used to,

OK, on another note, a couple of you mentioned that you weren't sure if Lisa was certified in fitness. I DO believe she IS in fact certified. She used to be a spin instructor (I think) so I think she probably has a group fitness cert if not a personal training one. If anyone know for sure, let us know.
I know Edith is a certified trainer (her certs are listed here) and Zuzka is through ISSA.

  1. The intro video says the intermediate bootcamp will have a cardio week, then balance and agility week, then strength week, then hell week combining everything. As someone new to their site I think making the beginner and intermediate bootcamps email sign ups is really smart on their part. Their website is unnecessarily confusing and I ended up reading this bog in an attempt to make sense out of the organization of their workouts. With the emails they can really control a newcomer's first experience and set expectations, including creating a desire to buy equipment packages and selling the bonuses.

    I'd rather they created nice organized playlists on YouTube or a Bootcamp main page with links to everything, but they don't get lots of clicks that way and it would make it to easy to ignore the extras.

      I too wish they would list everything on YouTube or their web-site, but it prob doesn't make good business sense for them.
      I wish their was a way to make the returning customer a bit more pleased.

  2. I got an email for the first workout, and I just really don't like the format or the fact that it's the same thing. My favorite workouts from them so far are the 30 day RTC and Zuzana's videos.

    Gina, I'm actually curious on what your thoughts are on short workouts versus longer ones. I usually do workouts from Loving Fit that usually take me about an hour around 3x a week, with yoga classes in between those days. She incorporates a lot of strength training / body weight training, but I like beating myself more than watching videos, so I don't use Zuzana/Bodyrock anymore. I just don't feel satisfied with short workouts. Even with those short workouts from Zuzana/Bodyrock, I would often add other short workouts that I found myself loathing to do.

    1. I think the longer vs shorter workouts depend on your fitness goals.
      If you are going for strength or skill you need more time.... Gymnastics skills, yoga, training for a marathon, learning Olympic lifts or KB skills all take time.
      If you have more than 25 lbs to lose or are new to workouts I think shorter ones are more effective.
      If you're looking to lose some fat, but tone up I think they need to be a bit longer too, but not so long as to negate your efforts. 30-40 min depending on how many days a week you'll work out.

  3. I didn't do the workouts yet, just looked at them but yesterday Edith doesn't look like having fun while doing this cardio woirkout!! I heard her lots of time saying she don't like cardio!

    1. Yes, Edith admittedly does not like cardio as much whereas I remember Lisa saying more than once that she likes it better.

  4. I looked at the "infomercial page" for their guides and burn outs for this challenge and always find it amusing to see:
    Warm up 8 min
    Workout 12 min
    Burn out 6 min
    Cool down 8 min
    To bring the total amount of time to 34 minutes
    Not that that isnt still a pretty short workout - I work out 45-90 min depending on if i run, strength train or do my yoga, but the classic "12 min a day" approach faints a bit, when Lisa says, that "the burnout is where the magic happens" and "warm ups and cool downs should be done every day and stretching is important"
    I know she tries to sell, but it seems so wrong that they promote 12 minutes, but say that the 34 minutes are necessary

    1. I know. Even with the 12 minutes, you still need a warm up and cool down.

    2. She only said I'm a PT (and then get red) If she really is she should have said :I'm a PT and got my certification from X place... I don't think she have one. What I don't understand is why she don't
